Susan Jacobson Susan Jacobson

Susan coaches the Recreational and competitive programs at American Powerhouse including curriculum management and all administrative duties. Susan's background includes 20 years of gymnastics coaching and extensive experience in advertising and public relations applications. Prior to American PowerHouse, she was Head Coach and owner/operator of Feather River Gymnastics.

Susan is Safety Certified by USA Gymnastics, A level I Trampoline and Tumbling Course Administrator, and a PDP 2 level coach by USA Gymnastics which includes the completion of the American Sports Education Program's Successful Coaching Certification. She is also CPR and First Aid Certified.

Susan was instrumental in the formation of the Northern California Association of USA Gymnastics Trampoline and Tumbling. She currently holds the title of Coaches Representative handling all coaching guidelines, training, schedules, and athlete development aspects. Susan is also a USA Gymnastics judge certified to judge on a National Level in the sports of Trampoline, Tumbling, and Double Mini.

Susan's experience with young children in the preschool setting is as well rounded as her gymnastics background. This experience culminated in the opening of a 54 child capacity licensed preschool in 2001. Susan's high level of energy and sheer love of kids paid off, and provided a much needed asset to the Portola community. Susan holds a degree in Early Childhood Education, and has held various positions on fitness and children's councils.
Ron Jacobson Ron Jacobson

Ron coaches the recreational, Jumping Bean, and Competitive Programs at American Powerhouse T&T as well as assisting administrative duties.

Ron's related experience includes 163 University credits in the Physical Education field and holds his Bachelors of Science in Physical Education form the University of Nevada, Reno. The course study included numerous units in Recreation Management and the sociological and psychological aspects of sport. In addition he has taken classes in adaptive physical education, health and wellness, nutrition, athletic training, physiology, anatomy, and kinesiology. A portion of this major included practicum and internships with athletic teams and in the classroom.

Ron also holds a valid California Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in Physical Education in all grade levels. He completed the training for this program at California State University, Chico in 2000. He maintains current First Aid and CPR certification, and has completed the American Sports Education Program's successful Coaching certification. Ron is a USA- Gymnastics Safety Certified Instructor and holds a USAG professional membership. He has been coaching for Feather River Gymnastics for the past 7 years and attends training seminars offered by USA- Gymnastics.

Ron worked for the Plumas Unified School District as a coach since 1986, and as a Physical Education and History Teacher in addition to being the Associated Student Body Advisor. His Additional Coaching Tenure includes 17 years of football, 3 years of baseball, and 2 years of basketball. Ron has also coached in various summertime youth and adult sports programs and holds a teaching equivalency at the community college level.

George Hery George Hery

George is a visiting Coach that helps out as a substitute coach as well as regular clinician or guest coach as well as our program consultant.

George Hery is THE MASTER in the world of competitive trampoline. He was responsible for working with trampoline inventor George Nissen in introducing the sport of trampoline to the world by traveling all over the globe doing trampoline demonstrations. He is flocked to for autographs at any trampoline event world wide.

George went on to hold the first US and World Trampoline titles a feat he repeated 7 times. He was the first athlete in history to complete a double back flip in competition. George is an inspiration and the delight of any room he occupies.

George has been a gym owner and coach for over 40 years. He has coached many world champion athletes. His ever positive and energetic style has led the youth of the world to follow his lead in attaining their personal best. Due to his sound business sense, the gyms he started were always the most successful in their communities. His contributions to the start of the Special Olympics and the time spent on the President's Council for Physical Fitness are only a fraction of the time he has spent helping others.

George is PDP Level 2 coach for USA Gymnastics, is a USA Gymnastics Safety Certified Coach as well as having been a Safety Certification instructor. George holds current First Aid and CPR certification.
